I Know Why The Caged Bird Sing #2

All throughout Maya Angelou's book, she uses a good deal of imagery. She uses it to help us, as the readers, picture what she is going through, and how her life was. One quote I really like which is an amazing example of this literary device is 'although the syrupy golden rings sat in their exotic cans on our shelves year round, we only tasted them during Christmas.' I can tell why she was always contemplating stealing a can! The words she uses to describe the pineapples and the cans they sat in really make the story better. That is why I love this book. Another literary device she uses is good sentence structure. Now, some of the words or phrases she uses are more southern terms we don't use, so to some people it may seem weird that I mention about good sentence structure. Though she uses these terms, the rest of her sentences in her book are very well structured. Overall her book was amazing. I absolutely loved the entire book and her use of literary devices.
